USA: Pro Gun Lobby Win In Wyoming
It’s being seen as a major win for the pro gun lobby in Wyoming as
the State Senate passed legislation allowing gun owners to hold a
concealed weapon without permit.
From now only if your drunk will you be unable to walk the streets with a gun in your coat.
With an overwhelming majority the legislation was supported in an
8:1 majority as the vote came before the House Travel, Recreation,
Wildlife and Cultural Resources Committee.
The National Rifle Association and the Wyoming Gun Owners
Association are basking in the glory after mounting an enormous lobbying
campaign, phone call and no doubt relentless emails make clear the
influential power of the gun lobby.
Opponents of the law, including the Brady Campaign, are mortified
by the changes, arguing that Wyoming already has flimsy gun control laws
including that no-one is required to have a criminal background check
when buying a weapon. There are now fears about the growing of the
funneling of illegal weapons through the state.
